In a video that ATP recently posted, Novak Djokovic and Rohan Bopanna are seen having a chat with each other. The two players share a very unique record and that is what they can be seen talking about in the video. Djokovic and Bopanna are the oldest players to be ranked No. 1 in the singles and doubles rankings, respectively.
In the video, the duo talked about how experience is of utmost importance and said that it’s probably why they are ranked No. 1. They also joked about the fact that they have a combined age of 80, but Rohan Bopanna contributes more to that combined age.

We were just saying that we are a combined 80 years old. It's not really balanced, it's not 50-50, you know, he brings more years to the 80. But I think we're still going strong.Novak Djokovic joked
The two then talked about the reason for their success. Praising Bopanna’s dedication, the Serb revealed that he sees him in the gym, spending countless hours every day. He also spends time in the physio a bit more than before because the recovery time of players increases with time.
I’d say experience, but also still being devoted and dedicated to the game every single day. I see him in the gym countless hours, also in the physio a bit more than before. But it's amazing to share the Tour with you for so many years and what an incredible moment to be oldest No. 1 in singles and doubles at the same time.Djokovic added
Novak Djokovic looks to make a sensational comeback at the Monte-Carlo Masters
The 24-time Grand Slam winner has not had a great outing in 2024 so far. He lost to Jannik Sinner in the semifinal of the Australian Open, which was his first tournament of the season. It was the first time that the Serb lost in the semifinal of the Happy Slam. He then suffered an even more shocking defeat against Luca Nardi in the round of 32 of the Indian Wells.
The Serb will thus look to make a comeback of sorts at the Monte-Carlo Masters. Novak Djokovic‘s World No. 1 status is already under threat, as Sinner is climbing up the rankings on the back of his consistent performances.
Djokovic performed phenomenally well in the clay season last year. He won his 23rd singles Grand Slam at the French Open. He will hope to replicate the same in 2024 as well. The Serb is on the same side of the draw as Carlos Alcaraz, which means that the two of them can face each other in the semifinals.
