WATCH: Nick Kyrgios wants to remove Ben Shelton to bring in Jack Sock for the perfect ATP NBA team point guard

Australian pro Nick Kyrgios often makes NBA references in tennis, and that’s pretty much what he did recently, but with a special twist. Interestingly enough, this time he made some adjustments to create the perfect ATP NBA team.

The Australian tennis player shared a clip from a small entertaining show ‘The Drink Break’, where the hosts came up with an ATP NBA team, listing out players for specific positions. Without any doubt, Nick Kyrgios made it to the team as the Shooting Guard.

Along with him, they chose Ben Shelton as the point guard, Gael Monfils as the small forward, Chris Eubanks as the power forward, and last but not least, Reilly Opelka as the center. They carved out the perfect team of tennis stars.

Kyrgios did not waste time reacting to this team, as he had some changes to make. He wanted to sub out Shelton for Jack Sock for the perfect team. Nonetheless, Kyrgios was happy with the team, as he reposted it on his Instagram.

Low key team is nice… Sub Shelton for Sock and we chilling.

Update on Nick Kyrgios’ road to recovery with fire in the belly

Australian sensation Nick Kyrgios has always been a big name in the tennis world. No one had seen a perfect timer of the ball, and on top of that, the Australian pulled out random trick shots, which ended up winning the point for him.

Unfortunately, Kyrgios has been on the sidelines due to an ankle injury that he suffered just as he started to peak in tennis. He had missed the entire 2023 season due to the injury. Recently, the former World No. 13 shared practice updates and said that he was inching closer to a return.

However, like every other player, Kyrgios had a war with his head during his time off the court. Hailing it as one of the toughest years, Kyrgios is happy that he still has a burning fire in him, driving him to make a return. Contemplating retirement, Kyrgios finally decided to give tennis another go and is en route to making a successful comeback to the sport.

Everything else has been amazing. I can’t complain about anything else. But tennis-wise, I’ve had some really hard conversations with myself ... like why am I doing all this? Like I don’t have to do it, but I’m doing it for some reason. So I know there’s still fire in the belly, which is good,

Said Nick Kyrgios via the Australian Open Show Podcast.

Although there is no specific date or time given for his comeback, the Australian is very keen on giving it a go. Although some fans will miss him in the commentary box, others would be delighted to see the Kyrgios Express back in business.
