Update: Novak Djokovic visits emergency center in Belgrade for a head scan after bowing out of Rome Masters

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been reported to have had a head scan in an emergency center in Belgrade in the early hours of today. This comes a few days after the Serbian revealed he suffered dizziness and nausea after an incident in his second-round match in Rome.

The 36-year-old shockingly lost to Chilean Alejandro Tabilo in the third round of the Rome Masters. After the defeat, Djokovic still looked shocked at his performance on the court and stated that the incident two nights earlier might have caused it.

For context, the incident was when a bottle slipped from a fan backpack and struck the head of the 24-time Grand Slam champion. Djokovic slowly went to the ground before he was escorted for quick medical care.

He was reported to be fine and even came to training the following morning wearing a bike helmet over a white cap. However, a poor display the following afternoon led him to believe the incident might be the cause, as he claimed he suffered dizziness, headaches, and nausea.

Update: Novak Djokovic visits emergency center in Belgrade for a head scan after bowing out of Rome Masters

This morning, it was reported that he went to see the doctors at an undisclosed hospital in Belgrade, his hometown. After a few questions, he then went for a checkup. According to Republika, the French Open champion went to have a head EG.

The results of the examination arrived immediately and there were no anomalies on his face. The Serbian star, however, still underwent the examination after a well-known neurologist, Dr. Sean Mullen, suggested that the impact of the bottle might be greater than perceived after he used artificial intelligence to calculate the effect.

Dr. Sean claimed that the bottle fell from two meters, hitting Djokovic with approximately 79.2 newtons of force, which is comparable to the impact of a medium-sized dog jumping on someone. Meanwhile, Djokovic will be heading for Roland Garros without a title for the first time since 2006.

My state of mind before Roland‐Garros? As always (smile). And the things I need to change? Well, everything. Everything must be improved so that we have at least a chance of winning.
