Yes absolutely, I do feel that and they've pushed the threshold of tennis further. In terms of improvement, I feel like tennis hasn't seen such a good generation of players in a while and I truly mean it when I say that I feel like Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and obviously all the other guys as well, they've been pushing me to be better.

Stefanos Tsitsipas told Tennis Channel

Tsitsipas believes he is playing at a time when players of the new generation are improving the game. The 25-year-old admitted that to be ahead of these youngsters, he needs to do much more.

I need to offer more than I did before on the court and it's kind of how life works you know, one generation leaves something behind and the next one shows up and tries to kind of improve it or give it sort of a better version of what has occurred previously.

They faced each other three times, with the Greeks winning all of them. Their last encounter was at the 2023 Wimbledon, where Tsitsipas won in straight sets.

Last year, Tsitsipas reached the quarterfinals of the Monte Carlo Masters, facing a 6-2, 6-4 defeat to America’s Taylor Fritz. But he emerged as the winner in 2022 by beating Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6.

The former World No. 3 is a two-time champion in Monte Carlo, winning his first title in 2021 by easing past Russia’s Andrey Rublev 6-3, 6-3. That was the Greek’s first win at a Masters 1000 event as well.

Tsitsipas last played at the Miami Open but couldn’t get past the second round. Canada’s Denis Shapovalov defeated him in straight sets.
