Iga Swiatek maintained a firm grip on the World No. 1 ranking as she begins her 112th week in the top spot.
With 11285 points, Swiatek’s third-round exit from Wimbledon did not prove substantially costly in the grand scheme of things as all of her closest rivals failed to capitalize on her mishap.
Coco Gauff only bridged the gap to the top marginally. She remains in second spot and trailing by 3112 points. Aryna Sabalenka withdrew from Wimbledon before she struck a ball and lost pursuit of the No. 1 ranking.
The top four remained unchanged, and therefore, Elena Rybakina, who was touted as the favorite for the title until she was eliminated in the semifinal stage, fell further behind her rivals in the points tally.
Jessica Pegula exited the world’s Top 5 for the first time in 90 weeks. Jasmine Paolini replaces her. The Italian makes her Top 5 debut after her historic runner-up finish at Wimbledon.
Qinwen Zheng, Maria Sakkari, and Danielle Collins retained their spots in the Top 10, but Marketa Vondrousova (18th) and Ons Jabeur (16th), who contested last year’s Wimbledon final, exited that elite band. Both women massively underperformed at this year’s tournament.
Barbora Krejcikova shockingly won her second Grand Slam singles tournament, outlasting 127 other women to walk away with the Wimbledon crown. She is the biggest mover in the Top 10, rising 22 places to settle in 10th.
Emma Navarro was the top-performing American woman at Wimbledon (singles). The 23-year-old was a quarterfinalist and rose to a career-high ranking of World No. 15. Donna Vekic, meanwhile, was a semifinalist at the Grand Slam level for the first time.
The Croatian big hitter soars 16 places to 21st in the latest rankings. Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia left the Top 20 (22nd). Wimbledon giant slayer Yulia Putintseva re-entered the Top 30, although she fell just two spots from matching her previous best ranking of 27th.
China’s Lin Zhu rejoins the Top 50 (50th) after snapping her seven-match losing streak during the grass-court swing. New Zealand’s Lulu Sun made waves at the recently concluded Wimbledon, reaching the quarterfinal as a qualifier. The lefty makes her Top 100 debut (up to 53rd).
