Serena and Venus Williams walk the runway at 2024 Vogue World in Paris

Also in attendance at the glitzy fashion show were Casper Ruud and Maria Sharapova.

Serena and Venus Williams spent the weekend serving up sport couture in Paris, as they walked the runway at Vogue World.

The fashion show, which debuted in 2022 as a brainchild of longtime Vogue editor and tennis fan Anna Wintour, is an event that *The New York Times* describes as “a cousin” to the glitzy, star-studded Met Gala. This year’s theme blended a sport with a decade in French fashion, as a centennial celebration for both the 1924 and upcoming Paris Olympics, and the sisters’ pairing with the 2000s was a particularly fitting collaboration.

Venus Williams walked the runway in front of hundreds gathered at the Paris Vendôme in a custom dress by French designer Marine Serre, who, as a former junior tennis player, dubbed it a “heartfelt tribute to [her] sporting roots,” made from recycled tennis bags.

“I’ve always had a love for fashion and throughout my tennis career, that affinity grew even more,” Venus Williams told Vogue. “I truly believe that in order to perform your best, you need to feel your best; before a match, I always think [about] how I’ll feel in the clothes I wear, how I’ll move in them, how they’ll support me, et cetera. What you wear is so important in tennis.”
