On gifts Iga Swiatek custom shoes in honor of fifth Grand Slam title

These new kicks are fit for a queen … the queen of clay, that is.

She’s pumped up—and she’s got new kicks! In honor of her fifth Grand Slam title, and fourth at Roland Garros, Iga Swiatek was gifted a pair of custom sneakers by her on-court apparel company, On.

Swiatek has been sponsored by the Swiss company, backed by Roger Federer, since last year, and partnered with the brand to create a custom, on-court shoe which she debuted in the fall. These off-court shoes, though, are personal in a different way: White with gold accents, they feature special details that tell some of the story of the 23-year-old’s career.

Swiatek showed off the sneakers in her champion’s press conference, and later gave fans a close-up view of the special additions in multiple posts on her Instagram story.

A crown is etched on the inside of one tongue, and on the other is a trophy emblazoned with the Roman numeral V, representing her Grand Slam total to date. Her celebratory exclaimation, “Jazda!”, the Polish for “Let’s go!” sits near the back of the right shoe.
