The Serb took down his semi-final rival, Lorenzo Musetti yet again, in style and repeated the new “violin play” celebration that he has picked lately. While Djokovic is now just one step behind making his Wimbledon score even to that of King of Grass Roger Federer, it seems like the crowd doesn’t really want that to happen.

The semi-final showdown was a huge opportunity for Lorenzo Musetti to repeat what he did in Monte Carlo earlier this year. However, the Serb didn’t allow him enough space and ended the intense battle with a final scoreline of 6-4, 7-6, 6-4. After his win, Djokovic celebrated by mimicking a violin’s gesture with his racket as he’s been doing these last few games.

For those who haven’t caught up with the new trend, this unique celebration is a tribute to his six-year-old daughter, Tara, who has been learning the violin for six months. “That was for Tara,” Djokovic explained in one of his post-match interviews at Wimbledon. “My daughter has been playing violin for some time already, six months, and we agreed that I would celebrate that way,” he added.

Even though the Serb has already stated the reason behind his celebration, some fans in the arena booed at him. This wasn’t just an attempt to spoil the finalist’s mood but to reignite the recent controversy that began during the Serb’s showdown against Holger Rune.

Djokovic had previously confronted the crowd for booing, where he thanked respectful fans and told the “disrespectful” ones to “have a goooooooood night,” mocking the way they sounded.

Although the fans and pundits argued that the crowd was cheering for Rune and not booing Djokovic, the Serb still defended his position, mentioning that in his experience, he’s walked through even worse situations. Nevertheless, his violin celebration was just a sweet gesture towards his daughter, who has started to enjoy this hobby.

As the conversation continued, there came a point where the representative ignited the crowd controversy topic, which somehow offended the ATP star. Without wasting any more time or even denying an answer, the Serb left the interview then and there, creating new headlines.

Although this move could be justified by the fact that he wanted to be focused on the match without going deeper into controversies, it still had a big impact on his image.
