Danielle Collins gushes over “supermodel” Jessica Pegula as fellow American stuns in new Vogue photoshoot

Danielle Collins has expressed her admiration for Jessica Pegula’s captivating photoshoot for Vogue. Pegula basked under the sun in a couple of eye-catching pictures, flaunting the jewelry she wears on the tennis court.

Pegula recently joined her fellow players Coco Gauff, Sloane Stephens, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev, Aryna Sabalenka, Naomi Osaka, Sebastian Korda and Lorenzo Musetti in posing for Vogue. The elite lineup featured in an article surveying the on-court jewelry preferences of some of the top stars of the sport.

In a stunning photoshoot, the World No. 5 posed under the sun with the strings of a tennis racket casting an artful shadow on her face as she showed off her personalized ‘Jessie’ necklace and diamond rings crafted in silver.

In another picture, the 30-year-old flaunted her dainty stacked gold bracelets and small hoop earrings, sharing an insight into her approach to wearing jewelry while playing.

“A little layering, a little ear stack, multiple bracelets,” she told Vogue.

Jessica Pegula’s striking photoshoot caught the eye of Danielle Collins, who effusively praised her compatriot’s “supermodel” look.

“Super model @jpegula ❤️🙌🔥,” Collins commented.

On the tennis front, Jessica Pegula has commenced her grasscourt season at the Libema Open, claiming a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Aliaksandra Sasnovich in her opening match.

The American is gearing up to compete at the Wimbledon Championships after being forced to miss the European claycourt swing, including the French Open, due to injury issues.

Danielle Collins, meanwhile, is taking a well-deserved break from tour after a grueling schedule leading up to the French Open, where she was stunned by Olga Danilovic in the second round. The World No. 11 will make a return to the court at the Eastbourne International, which commences on June 24.

Although Jessica Pegula couldn’t take part in the French Open, she did share her insights on the draw in an appearance on NBC Sports’ podcast ‘The French Connection.’

When asked for her thoughts on Danielle Collins, Pegula raved about her compatriot’s on-court personality and expressed admiration for the World No. 11’s combative and tenacious demeanor during matches.

“Yeah, I’m a big Danielle Collins fan. I think she’s great, I think she’s entertaining. I think she’s such a great personality, especially as a woman. She’s not afraid to kind of get in your face and I think that sometimes people might get offended by that, maybe being a female, but she’s not afraid to back down,” Pegula said.

The World No. 5 also opened up about learning a lot from Collins, emphasizing that her fellow American was not afraid to express her true self on the court.

“Honestly, I feel like she kind of taught me a lot. I remember playing with her like world team tennis at the beginning and she sometimes… You got to throw a little extra drama in there and… She’s just not afraid to like completely be herself on the court,” she added.
