“Beautiful” – Coco Gauff’s mother Candi gushes over American’s French Open 2024 outfit and newly launched Coco ‘CG1’ sneakers combo

Coco Gauff’s mother Candi recently showered praise on her French Open kit. The American will don a grey kit for the claycourt Slam, along with CG1 ‘Grey’ sneakers. Gauff signed with New Balance in 2018 when she was just 14 years old.

At the 2024 French Open, the American will be seen wearing a grey cut-sleeved, matching skirt with a contrasting black band, paired with matching CG1 ‘Grey’ sneakers.

The newly launched kit drew praise from Gauff’s mother, Candi. She shared the picture on her Instagram story and wrote:

“Beautiful.”

A designer for New Balance told Forbes that the 2023 US Open champion is very involved in the designing process. The design team inculcates Gauff’s feedback from past kits to create the newer kits. Her family, too, is involved in the process.

“Coco is very involved in this process, so she provides her feedback throughout the design process. The teams always start by speaking with Coco to see any feedback she had on past kits or anything she would like to try. Once we have that, the teams meet and discuss ideas and then those ideas are presented to Coco for additional feedback. Then we go into the full design process. Coco and her family are very involved throughout,”a designer at New Balance told Forbes.

Coco Gauff will lock horns with 21-year-old Russian qualifier Julia Avdeeva in the first round. If she reaches the second round, she could expect a challenge from Alison Van Uytvanck or Tamara Zidansek. The American can set up a thrilling fourth-round encounter against 2023 French Open semifinalist Beatriz Haddad Maia.

Following this, the World No. 3 could meet 2023 quarterfinalist Ons Jabeur, should they go through. Gauff could set up an enthralling encounter with Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinal if both make it through their draw. The American can only meet the defending champion Iga Swiatek if they both reach the final.

Her opponents are in sublime form, including Swiatek who is on course to a coveted triple crown, winning the three prestigious clay titles, the Madrid Open, Italian Open, and French Open, in the same year. Sabalenka fell short of winning two WTA 1000s in the past month, the Madrid Open and the Italian Open, falling short to the World No. 1 on both occasions

Coco Gauff reached the final at the French Open in 2022, losing to Iga Swiatek. She also has two quarterfinal appearances in 2021 and 2023.
