“There probably are some,“ Coco Gauff reveals if there are any throuples on tour as shown in Zendaya’s new tennis movie Challengers

The Sports/Romance movie Challengers has become the talk of tennis since its release last month. But, a throuple scene in the movie has been in the spotlight.

Challengers has given tennis another edge in sports and entertainment. The movie, which delves into the lives of three tennis players Tashi Donaldson (Zendaya), Art Donaldson (Mike Faist), and Patrick Zweig (Josh O’Connor) is basically about love, sport, and power.

The throuple’s scene has been the spotlight of the movie as several reviews point to the scene with questions. “Does it happen on Tour?”, has been a vital question since then. In a bid to know whether it truly happens, Gauff was asked if she had met any character like that on Tour.

The 20-year-old revealed that she didn’t know anyone like that and couldn’t relate to everything that happened in the movie.

I don't know any throuples going on on tour. There probably are some, but I'm not in it. I'm not Tashi Duncan. I don't know any Tashi Duncans. I did relate to her mentality on the court, not everything going on off the court…Also there's a part of the movie, I told my boyfriend, Thank God you don't play tennis, because she's right, I would not want to date a scrub on tour. That's the only relatable part I have about Tashi, otherwise she's not a nice character to how she treated her husband.

Away from Challengers, Gauff is looking forward to winning her first clay title of the season. The American has been struggling for consistency since January when she won the Auckland Open and reached the semifinals of the Australian Open.

Coco Gauff hoping to end her poor run of form at the Italian Open in Rome

Coco Gauff is yet to get past the quarterfinals of any clay tournament this season. The 20-year-old struggled to produce her best tennis in Stuttgart but began well in Madrid. She won her first match against Arantxa Rus 6-0, 6-0 in less than an hour.

With hopes high for the American’s success, she faltered in the round of 16 losing to her fellow countrywoman Madison Keys. Gauff’s poor serve was the major cause of her loss in her last two clay tournament exit. The hard court master is yet to begin dominating the surface.

However, she will begin her Rome campaign against Magdalena Frech in the second round. She will be hoping for a better outcome in Rome.
