Tennis fans were left drooling on social media after Carlos Alcaraz crashed into tennis legend Juan Martin del Petro photo session at the Madrid Open. For Alcaraz, it was an awesome experience meeting the Argentine with the aim still of winning the Madrid title three consecutive times.

For context, the Spanish star missed the Monte Carlo Masters after sustaining a right arm injury while training. He also missed the Barcelona Open but already has a Masters 1000 title to boast this season.

The 20-year-old began his Madrid Open campaign with a thunderbolt victory in the second round. He defeated Kazakhstan’s Alexander Shevchenko 6-2, 6-1 before meeting Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild in the third which he won 6-3, 6-3. Yet to lose in 13 matches in the Madrid Open, the Spanish looks favorite to claim the title.

However, he will have to pass a tricky test in the fourth round of the tournament. He will play 23rd seed Jan-Lennard Struff, who finished as runners-up last year. Alcaraz defeated the German in last year’s final 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. But, this time around, the German headed into the Madrid Open winning the BMW Open last two weeks. He will be a formidable opponent, but Alcaraz’s ferocious display will help him go through.

Meanwhile, after Alcaraz enjoyed his victory over Seyboth Wild in the third round, he met Juan Martin del Petro in the photo session. The Grand Slam winner was taking photos with fans and chatting with a group before Alcaraz greeted them. Both shook hands before going their ways.

Del Petro was also seen at the Miami Open last month, as he continues to make his presence felt in the sport.
