Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek is the top-ranked women’s player in the world. She recently completed 100 weeks as the World No. 1 player, and it is a monumental achievement.
The consistency has been phenomenal, and Swiatek is also proud of it. The 22-year-old is over the moon for the fact that she has achieved such a milestone so early in her career.

Swiatek has talked about her hundred weeks as the World No. 1 player and also mentioned the time she had to claim it back from Aryna Sabalenka. The Polish ace said that it was a great feeling to get it back. Swiatek claimed that all of it happened in an unexpected way.
Notably, Iga Swiatek lost her World No. 1 crown to Aryna Sabalenka for around eight weeks after she was knocked out of the 2023 US Open. However, the Polish ace made a roaring comeback and won titles, including the WTA Finals title, to reclaim her throne. Now, Swiatek has talked about her dominance.
Honestly, it’s hard for me to get a grasp of it because it happened so fast.It’s pretty crazy. I never expected to be in that position. Actually, staying at the top of the game for so long is something that really makes me proud...As you know, especially last year, getting back to No.1 was a big deal and it happened in an unpredictable way, so I’m just proud of myself that I could cope with all the pressure that comes with that.Iga Swiatek said. Iga Swiatek not taking any tournament for granted
Iga Swiatek also talked about her mindset as to how she manages her thought process before tournaments. As the World No. 1 player gears up to play on her favorite surface, Swiatek said that she does not take any match or tournament for granted.
The 22-year-old said that as she plays against the top players in the world, thinking that she will end up winning a tournament because her record is good is not right. An example of this was seen at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix when double-defending champion Swiatek was knocked out in the semifinal.
Well it puts you back on the ground but on the other hand I never felt like I am taking these tournaments for granted because still, you know, I lost here last year and I lost in Rome. We’re competing really against the best players in the world so it’s not like you’re going to win every tournament. Even though it is my favourite surface, it doesn’t mean that my tennis is going to be perfect.Iga Swiatek said.
Notably, Swiatek is the top seed at the upcoming Madrid Open, where she was the runner-up last time. Her impeccable record on clay makes her a title favorite. But it is to be seen if the 22-year-old manages to live up to the expectations.
