SUFFERING was the word Coco Martin had to endure when the DNA test results of Katherine Luna’s child were announced. He was SHOCKED.

Even before actor-director Coco Martin reached the peak of his current popularity, he went through many trials and various controversies.

One of the biggest controversies the actor faced was when he was called an irresponsible father for allegedly neglecting his son with Katherine Luna.

It can be recalled that in 2005, Coco Martin had a brief relationship with Katherine Luna while they were working on the movie ‘Masahista’. He is also the alleged father of her child.

However, Coco Martin and Katherine Luna soon separated, which led to him being called a neglectful father.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Coco Martin, Boy Abunda revealed that they were not boyfriend and girlfriend, but he admitted that something happened between them.

“We’re just together in the movie. We’re not boyfriends. I said it because of our youth, going out, going out, gimmicks, something happened that we didn’t expect.”

In 2011, Katherine revealed that she was ready to introduce Coco Martin to the child even though the actor was not supportive after her birth.

“When I was pregnant, yes, he had… Yes, he bought me things. But when I gave birth to Nicole, nothing, nothing, I heard nothing. Since the first month.”

“But what can he do to help… the child is happy with me. I won’t hold back on that, I won’t hold back on him meeting his real father in person.”

However, in 2014, Coco Martin said that his manager advised him to take legal action, including getting a DNA test, regarding custody of the child.

The child’s grandmother and mother reportedly agreed, but the paternity test came back negative.

Coco Martin was reportedly very sad and regretful because he was willing to adopt the child, especially since his rise to fame had begun that year. 

Aside from what he felt, he also felt hurt for the child because he completely thought he was his real father. “And there’s a point, you’re also thinking about the child. Because all his playmates, all his relatives, when he sees me on TV I’m sure, ‘That’s my Daddy.’ It’s not just me, the damage that happened is so great.”

“Of course, on my part, I want to take the child in. Because he did nothing wrong. And I also don’t know where to go now, how is he now, the thing he was hoping for the most is not there.”
