Chiefs defeat Tampa Bay 30-24 in overtime, winning franchise record 14th straight game

The Kansas City Chiefs extended their winning streak to 14 games with a 30-24 overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 14th win, dating back to last season, is a franchise record.

DeAndre Hopkins scored two touchdowns, and Kareem Hunt secured the win with a game-winning touchdown in overtime.

The Chiefs, with a 10-play, 70-yard touchdown march, improve to 8-0 on the season. The Chiefs started from their 30-yard line after a touchback and steadily advanced with a mix of short passes and runs.

Mahomes connected with Hunt, Kelce, and Hopkins on key completions, while Hunt powered through with several rushes to keep the chains moving.

Hunt’s game-winning touchdown was from one yard out.

0:27, Fourth Quarter: With just 27 seconds left in the game, Buccaneers tied it up at 24-24 after a 10-play, 71-yard drive capped by Mayfield’s 1-yard touchdown pass to Miller. The drive included a crucial 19-yard pass to Trey Palmer to reach the 1-yard line.

4:17, Fourth Quarter: Hopkins’ second touchdown of the game gives Kansas City a 24-17 lead late.

The score capped off a 15-play, 78-yard drive that lasted 8:26 in the fourth quarter. Rushing yardage from Kareem Hunt and Caden Steele powered the drive on the ground.

Mahomes ultimately connected with Hopkins for a 5-yard touchdown pass on 3rd-and-goal at the Tampa Bay 5-yard line.

Mahomes connected with Samaje Perine on a short 7-yard pass for the touchdown, but Mahomes was injured on the play.

11:36, Third Quarter: The Buccaneers orchestrated a strong drive to open the second half, capped off by Baker Mayfield’s 11-yard touchdown pass to Cade Otton. The drive began after Tampa Bay’s impressive return to midfield.
