Paula Badosa talks to the media
Paula Badosa has admitted that the prospect of motherhood is something that excites her about the future.
Badosa feels that being an older sister has cultivated her maternal side.
The former world No 2 is 11 years older than her sister Jana.
The Spanish WTA Tour star is involved in a romantic partnership with ATP Tour star Stefanos Tsitsipas. The pair have not spoken openly about any desire to have a family.
However, it is quite clear how Badosa feels about her future as she seems eager to have children.
“It (motherhood) has always been very important to me and I have had it in mind since I was little. I have always said that I would like to be a mother, obviously, I still have a long way to go, but it is something that I feel especially with my sister, who is 11 years younger than me and with whom I have always felt a very internalized maternal part,” Badosa told La Vanguardia.
Badosa put no timeline on her expectations but indicated that it would be something she was consider in the future.
“It (motherhood) is something that I want in the future and that will make me very excited when it comes,” Badosa added.
For now Badosa is happy to play the role of second mom to her sister Jana.

Paula Badosa slams ‘disrespectful’ criticism of Stefanos Tsitsipas relationship
She revealed that she will be helping her sister achieve her dream of studying in the United States in an earlier chat with WTA Tour Insider.
“My younger sister, she’s 15 years old. Her name is Jana. We have a 10-year difference so I always felt that, of course, I’m her older sister but as I say, at the same time, I always felt like I had to like, be her second mom. I protect her so much, especially the role I’m playing right now with her right now, it’s financially, I’m helping her. Her dream was always to come here to the US, to study, to learn English. Her maturity is growing so fast thanks to that, so I’m very proud of her,” Badosa said.
A back injury has hampered Badosa’s career in recent times but she has showed promising signs, especially during her run to the fourth round at Wimbledon.
As for her relationship with Tsitsipas, the pair have committed to giving each other space as professionals.
They do not feel obliged to take in each other’s matches at every opportunity.
“Sometimes when she’s playing, I have an off day and need to train and just get back into my routine,” Tsitsipas told Swiss press.
“It can sometimes be difficult and drain my energy when I’m watching her game on an outdoor court with hundreds of fans asking for autographs,” he said.
“I’m also the type of guy who gets stressed out watching her play tennis,” Tsitsipas said.”This is one of the agreements I made with Paula. If she wants to watch, she always can. But it’s better if we focus on our tennis and our training,” he added.
