Former legendary doubles players Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan will lead the US tennis team at the Paris Olympics, and they’re excited about the prospect.

The Bryan Brothers have long been the dominant force in doubles on the ATP Tour. They have won events all over the world, ultimately winning 22 Grand Slam trophies, so having them lead the American tennis players at the Olympics will be an excellent chance for those players to tap into their vast experience.

One of the brothers, Mike, spoke with Tennis365 about the upcoming Olympics and Coco Gauff, the US’s biggest hope of a medal. Gauff recently admitted that she wants to win a gold medal, and she will be among the favorites in Paris simply due to her history at Roland Garros.

Besides the singles, Gauff will also play in the doubles with Jessica Pegula. Having won the Roland Garros doubles trophy this year certainly means that Gauff has a good chance of winning a medal in the doubles.

Mike Bryan said Gauff’s chances in Paris are good because she has something to prove and is good on clay.

“She’s going to be good on the clay, I think that’s maybe one of her favourite surfaces, so I think she’s got something to prove. I think she loves playing for her country and she’ll put in a really good performance. I think she’s playing mixed doubles, doubles, and singles, so she’s got a lot of options to do well.”

It’s going to be very busy days for Gauff, who will also have a very busy conclusion to the summer in the United States with the US Open. She will be defending her titles at a few events, such as in Washington, Cincinnati, and the US Open, and Bryan could easily see her defend the fourth major of the season.

“And I think she can defend the Open, why not?”
