French luxury sports fashion brand Lacoste has released an unexpected limited edition tracksuit for their ambassador Novak Djokovic in anticipation of his 25th Grand Slam victory. Djokovic has won a record 24 Major titles in his illustrious career.

The brand’s iconic green crocodile logo is widely recognized. The Serb was appointed its global brand ambassador and style ambassador in 2017. The company also sponsors other tennis players including Daniil Medvedev, Venus Williams and Gregor Dimitrov.

Lacoste has released multiple special edition jackets and t-shirts to celebrate Djokovic’s major victories over the years. After winning the 2023 U.S. Open, Djokovic wore a custom white Lacoste jacket during the presentations. The Jacket had ‘number 24’ emblazoned on it, paying tribute to the Serb’s record-breaking 24th Major victory.

Lacoste’s iconic crocodile logo was also visible at the bottom of the number:

The 37-year-old has had a lukewarm 2024, given the high standards he has set throughout his legendary career. The champion has failed to win a Major this year. He was knocked out of the 2024 Australian Open by World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the semifinals, and withdrew from Roland-Garros due to injury.

During his fourth-round encounter with Francisco Cerundolo, Djokovic suffered a torn meniscus, which ended his title defense in France. He withdrew from the tournament due to the injury.

To show their support for the 24-time Major champion, Lacoste changed their iconic crocodile logo. The traditional crocodile emblem now had a bandage around its knee, representing the Serb.

Djokovic is currently recovering from the knee injury. He was recently included in Serbia’s contingent for the 2024 Paris Olympics, while there is no update regarding his participation at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
