Paula Badosa Opens Up About Reunion with Stefanos Tsitsipas, Admits Relationship Is “Not Easy”

The golden couple of tennis are back together, but Paula Badosa admits her relationship with Stefanos Tsitsipas will always be challenging.

Conducting a romance in the full glare of the public spotlight makes the big love story in tennis more challenging, but the former world No 2 and her Greek partner are back together after a brief break-up earlir this month.

Badosa confirmed the relationship had ended in an Intagram post shortly before the Rome Masters, much to the disappointment of their army of fans who enjoy regular updates from the tennis couple

After careful consideration and many cherished moments together, Stefanos and I have decided to amicably part ways,” saod Badosa as she confirmed the break-up earlier thos month.

“We have shared a journey filled with love and learning, and it is as friends with immense mutual respect that we now choose to move forward on our own paths.

“As we transition into this new chapter of our lives, we continue to wish each other nothing but the best in all our endeavours.

“We kindly ask for privacy during this time, and we thank you for your understanding and respect.”

That was before Tsitsipas confirmed he was back together with Badosa when he spoke to the media at the French Open. “We are together. I’m going to explain why some people create different stories about us,” Tsitsipas told reporters. “It’s not that I care, but I don’t think people should take it like that. Paula didn’t do anything wrong and neither did I. It was hard for us to be apart and I was also going through difficult times.

I would say that I didn’t take it very well either, because I felt the pressure of the tour, of my work. It seemed like a mountain to combine the two things (tennis and romantic life) and I made the decision to take a break.

“After two or three weeks I realized that she is a person who has supported me a lot and, when she tried to talk to me again, I felt how intense the love we have for each other is. “I realised that this relationship I have with Paula is completely different from any other relationship I have had. That gives more value to everything I do and I want her by my side whenever possible. So yes, we have reconnected and we are in a good place.”

Now Badosa has offered up her first comments on the story and it was clear that she is not comfortable playing out a love story through the media “Well, he already said everything. It’s pretty clear. The relationship is working very well now. He already explained. I have nothing else to say,” said the Spanish star.

“I mean, it’s already our private life. I think one of the things that I didn’t like or we didn’t like is that it was very public, so now we want to keep things a little bit more on our own.

“I still understand that it’s not going to be easy because we are two public people, public person, and people will ask, but we want to keep it more for ourselves because it’s never easy to combine our careers to that.

“Let’s just try to keep it simple for both of us, because I think it helps and it’s healthier.”

Badosa may not enjoy the attention surrounding her relationship with Tsitsipas, but the most talked about couple in tennis will struggle to escape the attention now that they are back together.
