“We reconnected and we’re in a good place. We’re together. I’ll explain why some people make up different stories about us. Not that I care, but I think people shouldn’t take it that way. Paula didn’t do anything wrong, nor did I do anything wrong. It was difficult for us to be apart and I was going through some difficult times too. I would say I didn’t manage it very well either, because I felt the pressure of the tour, of my job mountain to combine these two things (personal and professional life) and I decided to take a break.
After two-three weeks I realized that she is a person who supported me a lot and when she tried to talk to me about a meeting I felt how intense the love we have for each other is. I realized that this relationship I have with Paula is completely different from any other relationship I have had in the past, I feel that she is my person and we understand each other. And that gives I value everything I do and I want her by my side as often as possible,” explained Tsitsipas.
We recall shortly before the Rome tournament, Badosa had announced the end of the relationship between the two tennis players.
“When we were both well the relationship was fantastic. Other times it can happen that, given our careers and our affairs, we come to the decision to separate our lives. Our story reminded me of that between Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov where you meet the right person but at the wrong time. I think it was like that for us too. Emotionally it hasn’t been easy these days but I’m a strong person, so I’m trying to face everything in the most decisive way possible. I’m proud of myself and how I’m dealing with everything,” said Paula.
