Roger Federer is currently in Paris for a special event of his sponsor UNIQLO and was the special guest at the inauguration of a tennis court in La Courneuve, north of Paris. The Swiss spent time with young people, playing tennis with them and still showing exceptional shots. Roger, however, could remain in Paris in the next few days, to watch the matches of his historic rivals Novak Djokovic and, above all, Rafa Nadal on the Philippe Chatrier. Nothing is certain yet, but could Roger’s presence in Paris just be a coincidence?

In the meantime, there is less than a month left until the release of the Amazon Prime Video series on Federer’s last twelve days before his farewell to tennis at the 2022 Laver Cup. The docu-series, Twelve Final Days, will also be a journey through the fantastic 24 years of Roger’s career, where we will be able to relive the most important moments of the Swiss Maestro on the Tour.

In a recent interview for SiriusXM, Federer revealed what was the most important match of his career. The Swiss said that the most important match for him was the round of 16 match he won against Pete Sampras at Wimbledon in 2001. Roger, in his first appearance in the British slam, defeated the absolute ruler on the grass of the All England Club, who had lost only one of the last 57 matches played in London.

“I was junior champion at Wimbledon a couple of years before and that was the only time I faced him. It was a dream come true. Looking back, this might be my favorite match. It was my first time at Wimbledon, against my hero. I’m happy I had the opportunity to play against him,” he told.
