The 2024 Newport Open is the last ATP 250 grass-court tournament of the season, and the draw for the event was released.
Running from July 15th to 21st, right after the Wimbledon Championships, the Newport Open, also known as the Hall of Fame Open, presents great opportunity for players who love the green low-bouncing surface, but didn’t do really well at SW19.
On top of that, it offers also nice transition to the United States and the North America, where the following part of the season will be played, with the Canadian Open, Cincinnati Open, and the US Open as the following three big tournaments in the calendar.
This year, the top seed in Newport will be Adrian Mannarino from France. Like all the top four seeded players, he has a first-round BYE. Already in the second round, he can be properly tested, as he will take on the winner of the match between compatriot Constant Lestienne and home player Reilly Opelka, whose comeback has been long awaited.
On the other side of the draw is the second-seeded Marcos Giron, who will also start in the second round of the ATP 250 competition, taking on either Zachary Svajda or Benoit Paire in his first match at the tournament.
Of course, there will be plenty of American players, trying to showcase their qualities in front of the home crowd. Last year’s Wimbledon quarter-finalist, Christopher Eubanks will be one of them. He will be the fourth seed, and in the second round, he will play against Ethan Quinn or one of the qualifiers.
Brandon Nakashima will be the fifth seed. He will start against Emilio Nava, but if he succeeds, he can take on Jakub Mensik, who can be a very challenging opponent, especially on grass. The full draw for the 2024 Newport Open can be seen below.
